The Sanderling's Second Annual Truffle Dinner on December 11th Co-Sponsored by Allied Domecq Raised $1,500 For the American Cancer

overlooking Currituck Sound, The Left Bank, presented a nine-course truffle-laden dinner with wine pairings by the master sommelier of Allied Domecq. Guest chefs from North Carolina, Virginia and Chicago joined Left Bank's Chef de Cuisine George Robinson to celebrate the peak of truffle season by preparing culinary creations incorporating the coveted "black diamond" French truffles and Italy's famous Piedmont white truffles for this exclusive dinner. The sold-out dinner was priced at $250 per person, inclusive of tax, gratuity and wine. Guest chefs who worked with Chef Robinson, who was recently featured in Food & Wine, included Sam Mcgann of The Blue Point in Duck, recognized in Gourmet and Wine Spectator for its excellent fare; Chef Dale Reitzer of Acacia Restaurant in Richmond, a recipient in 1999 of Food & Wine's "Best New Chefs of America"; Bobby Huber of the renowned One Fish Two Fish of Virginia Beach favored by Southern Living, and Todd Jurich of Bistro in Norfolk, recognized by R.W. Apple Jr. of The New York Times, as "Norfolk's standout, Mr. Jurich is a wizard with Eastern Shore shellfish." And hailing from Chicago, Ryan Poli the chef de cuisine at the Hyatt Regency joined the group bringing his expertise from stints at Mango in Chicago, The French Laundry in Napa and La Broche Restaurant in Madrid.
