DINING

The Left Bank, which opened in the spring of 2002, is a breathtaking formal dining room offering spectacular sunset views of the Currituck Sound. Drawing inspiration for its name from both The Left Bank of Paris, France and its geographic orientation on the Outer Banks, The Left Bank serves French-inspired, contemporary American cuisine complemented by a carefully selected collection of fine wines. An intimate 60-seat dining room, The Left Bank's interior design features a display kitchen, beautiful fabrics and furnishings, custom cherry millwork and a museum-quality collection of porcelain Doughty birds on display.

The Lifesaving Station is housed in a restored 1899 United States Lifesaving Station decorated with nautical artifacts and historic memorabilia. The restaurant's Upper Deck accommodates groups of 60 and features a cozy fireplace and sweeping views of Currituck Sound. Adjacent to the Upper Deck is The Swan Room Bar and Lounge, an ideal location to enjoy an aperitif or after-dinner cocktail. Lifesaving Station's menu features contemporary American cuisine with an emphasis on regional seafood and produce. An extensive varied wine list, which has won the "Award of Excellence" four years running from Wine Spectator magazine, adds to the gourmet dining experience. Ask to view the Lifesaving Station's private wine room that accommodates six to eight people for special dinners.
